The game shoots from the lowest slum pits to the greatest skyscraper heights, leaving behind a trail of corpses, splatters of blood, and empty brass rolling on the floor.

I am a big fan of Remedy games. I give respect to this great game, and I hope this remaster will give this beautiful game another many more years of life.

I have cleared comments, since many problems no longer matter with the release of version 1.3 as it was solved.
In previous comparisons, I didn't notice that game had middle values for original textures, so comparisons were incorrect. I apologize for misinformation, now I made corrected comparisons.
You need clean game before install 1.3 version. If you had any previous versions then i strongly recommended reinstall game.
Re-read the installation instructions, in 1.3 version it has changed!

Maybe can you add this version of Max Payne in your mod? It is the default Max Payne 1 Max but with more detail (ears,hand etc.)

Already set detailed textures to minimum in options.
When using kungfu3.0 mod I get:

Also, loading takes forever. I have modern hardware so it shouldn't be the problem. Right?

I'm experiencing some sporadic stuttering. Like a split second freeze. Is there any known cause?
Nobody wrote about such a problem, perhaps the characteristics of your PC are not enough for a mod.
I ran the unmodded game without this issue. It has to be a setting or compatibility thing. My PC shouldn't be the issue with a game that old, textures or not :) I'll keep watching the comments. Thanks for your work

I think you're missing the point ,
new upscaled textures will obviously put more stress on a pc.
Wouldn't hurt to check your graphics drivers version ,maybe change from the drivers you have installed atmo.
Usually that involves updating but i have had the rare game that performs better with an older graphics driver version.

Do we no longer need the fixitall or widescreen fixes?
There is no need to apply fix by Darkje, since it relies on game sound files replacing. It is enough to paste IndirectSound library nearby main exe, and sounds work fine.

It looks like graphic novels wasn't upscaled.
Even better, because it would be incompatible with other language packs than English, but it could be added as an option imho.

I downloaded the "laa_2_0_4.zip" and used it on MaxPayne.exe as written in instructions and it didn't work :<

Hi, unfortunately the game doesn't start. An error appears:
May Payne requires a DirectX8 compatible display adapter. Pleease consult the troubleshooting readme in the installation folder.

Looks amazing but I'm getting crashes to desktop during loading of levels. Seems random. Sometimes I can get it to load but more often than not I CTD. Followed install instructions on a fresh install on steam on a computer with a fresh install of Windows 10 on new SSD only a few weeks old.

This is exactly why PC Gaming is the BEST, Windows has unlimited backwards compatibility and no modding restrictions. A game that's nearly over 2 decades old is polished up by dedicated fans and distributed for FREE. Fans care more than the creators of games, its just the truth.
What good is a PS4 or an Xbox? you know you can't play PS2 or PS3 games on it unless the Gods feel like throwing you a bone and charge you double for buying the same PS3 game again. When you have a PC, you don't have to care about any such nonsense, as long as you've got the hardware you can play ANY game from ANY time because Windows has universal compatibility.
What does the SteamExe application do?
Also when I try to open it, it says that i don't have the file MSVCP100.dll. But when I get the dll file, another problem appears "0xc000007b". How can I fix it?

I have never played Max Payne (born 1990), it was your work that convinced me to try. I finished Max Payne and it's a great game, and your work makes it look much better than the original. What's important is that these are original textures (not created), ie the "reception" of the game is exactly the same as on the day of the premiere.
